Gunmen Wreak Havoc In Adamawa Village, Kill 3 Locals..


A gang of armed men have launched a fierce attack on Thambo, a village in Girei Local Government Area of Adamawa state at about 2am on Wednesday, July 13.

The intruders are suspected to be Fulani herdsmen who killed 3 resdisents and injuried 3 others. Besides, they carted away livestock and other domestic animals belonging to the community

Governor Ortom tells media Community leaders who delivered the bodies of the deceased to the state police headquarters in Yola condemned the lack of police presence in the area despite frequent security challenges.

However, DSP Othman Abubakar, the public relations officer of Adamawa state police command, assured the locals of the police’ awareness of the attack and pledged an prompt detention of the perpetrators.

The bodies of the victims were taken to the Specialist Hospital, while the injured were treated by the medical team of accident and emergency unit of the hospital.

Recall that earlier this week pandemonium has rocked Benue state as herdsmen have killed bout 81 people in two local governments of the state.

Meanwhile, in a bid to curb the incessant clashes between herdsmen and farmers, the government of Adamawa state has created 72 grazing reserves in the state, out of which 30 are already gazetted.

The federal government has set up an inter-ministerial committee to work out modalities and fine tune the security of agro-investments and the investors.
