Ben Bruce welcomes ex-President Goodluck Jonathan home


Ben Murray-Bruce was among the first who has welcomed the former president back home. A Nigerian business magnate and politician has swiftly took to his Facebook page to express his happiness over ex-President Goodluck Jonathan’s return to Nigeria.


Share on Facebook Share on Twitter Goodluck Jonathan in Otuoke The senator who represents Bayelsa East constituency wrote: “On behalf of the people of Bayelsa East Senatorial Zone, I welcome our most illustrious constituent, former President Goodluck Jonathan, back to Nigeria."


Jonathan arrived at the Port Harcourt International Airport on Wednesday, June 1, before heading for his country home in Otuoke, Bayelsa state.

The former leader was on his month’s trip to the United Kingdom and Côte d’Ivoire. Goodluck Jonathan arrives Nigeria, heads to Otuoke Meanwhile local media sources alleged that he went into temporary exile to avoid a possible arrest by operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) over corrupt activities during his administration.


Friends and well-wishers welcomed the former president back in country Nigerians also took to social media to welcome Jonathan and highlight the things that had happened in Nigeria while Jonathan was away.


Earlier this week Ben Bruce complained that operatives of the Department of State Services barred him from greeting President Muhammadu Buhari at the Aso Rock presidential villa during a dinner organised to mark 2016 Democracy Day.
