10 annoying sets of people you must have met in Nigeria.

There are indeed some annoying people in this country; we meet them everywhere we go and during the course of our daily activities. What beats me is the fact that I really do not know how this people turned out this way. Could it be lack of manners or people just trying to be difficult for no known reason? If you are a Nigerian, then you must have had more than one encounter with the group of people we would be talking about here.

Find below some of the annoying sets of people every Nigerian must have met:

1. Those who sleep in the bus and rest their heads on your shoulders

If you have traveled a remarkable distance within Nigeria, you would have met people like these. It is so annoying when someone sits near you in the bus and starts to doze. If they will doze and sleep off in their own seats, it would have been fine. But when these strangers start to nestle close to you to rest their heads on your shoulder, it is totally not cool. Heaven bless your soul if spit trickles out of their mouths in the process.

2. Those who take too long at the ATM

The queue is enough to piss one off on a sunny day in Nigeria. You would be running out of your wit when you meet people who take spend eternity at the ATM because they want to withdraw. Most times, these people do not even know what to press on the machine and end up wasting your time.

3. Those who make it their business to look at your phone in the bus

This is extremely ridiculous; how could you be staring at someone else’s phone even in the bus when you are not related? The annoying part of this is when you notice this and you look at them, they do not get the body language and still end up staring hard at your phone and go on to read your messages as well if you let them.

4. The unbearable secretaries that cannot tolerate you

If we are right, the secretaries are placed on their seats to give us directions and help us with our enquiries. But in Nigeria, you can be sure you would get schooled by a secretary if you are not careful. Most of the secretaries in the establishments we have here are far from being polite, they act like they do not have your time. So why are they there in the first place? If they hated the job that much why didn’t they resign?

5. The igbo boys that pull your cloth in the market Some guys in the big markets of some cities in Nigeria are specialized in this. They will never let you walk into the market by yourself; they will either pull at your clothes or pull your hand in a different direction. Annoyingly, some use the opportunity to rub ladies bodies and rob some people of their valuables.

6. Conductors who assume you have a sister in the bus

When you enter the bus alone and the conductor decides to join your change with someone else’s own then you have found a new friend in the bus. These conductors expect you to follow the other passengers you are attached to wherever they go until they have change to give you. This is their perfect way of making their duty your own problem.

7. Customer care people who do not answer their calls

If you are a Nigerian who resides in the country, then you would know the customer care people are the last set of people you should call when you have a problem. Firstly, they do not pick their calls for as long as possible and finally when they do, you would be shocked they do not understand the problem as much as you do.

8. Passengers who preach in the bus

This could be seriously annoying; most of these preachers act like we do not have Jesus in our lives too. And if you do not say amen after their prayers it would fill you with a sense of guilt. These people just make you feel like the devil if you do not respond. Sometimes, people just want to get lost in their own thoughts and do not want to be disturbed even though they are sitting in a commercial bus.

9. The bus drivers who would park on the road to pick passengers

It is almost impossible driving in some major cities in Nigeria and not cursing. The bus drivers are so reckless they could stop in the middle of the road to pick passengers. And when you make effort to drive out from behind them, they start moving again.

10. Drivers who speed up when they see you crossing the road Shuuuu? Do you want to break our legs? It is now difficult to keep up with the fine girl status as you are expected to open your legs wide and run because you want to cross the road. This set of annoying people also do not give other drivers the chance to overtake them or cross to the other side of the road. They act like the roads belong to only them.
