Drama in Filling station at Lagos as Hoodlums slit mans throat....
Tragedy struck in the Oyingbo area of Lagos state when hoodlums stormed a Total filling station and killed a man simply identified as Sijuade. The Punch reports that the incident happened on Friday, April 1 when the victim was at the filling station in Kano Street with some friends to buy fuel in some jerry cans. The hoodlums stormed the place and dragged him away. They reported gorged out his eyes before slitting his throat.
Residents were forced to flee and take cover after the attack and it was reported at Denton police division. Oyela Sodiq who resided in the area said Sijuade was a street boy but was not known to cause problem. He said the victim’s brother, Ibikunle rushed him to the hospital but he was pronounced dead.
“It was around 6am on Friday. The guy was well known, and as a street boy, he used his influence to help motorists get fuel. The hoodlums, who might have been on a reprisal, bundled him out of the station. “After a few metres, they began to stab him in the head before they cut his throat. When people saw the young man lying in a pool of blood, they called his elder brother. “His brother brought a tricycle and they rushed him to a hospital. Sadly, he did not survive it. The matter was reported to the police at Denton. No one was arrested on that day.”
It was reported that two days after the death of Sijuade, another young man, Toheeb was killed in Ondo Street. The gunmen came in a car and shot him. A witness, Sikiru Ibrahim said shop owners and passers-by were injured by stray bullets. He said: “Toheeb’s mother sells bean cake (akara) at Coates Junction. He was a well known young man in the area. On Sunday, around 10pm, he was sitting down with his friends at a shop when a car drove towards them, and some people opened fire on them. “While others sustained bullet injuries, Toheeb died. Everyone fled into their houses. The operation happened within minutes.
“The police later came to remove the corpse. The mother had not been stable since that incident.” Dolapo Badmos who is the police public relations officer confirmed the two incidents. She said patrol had been intensified in the area to apprehend the perpetrators. She said “I confirm a reprisal attack that led to the loss of two lives. Right now, the area is calm. “The Commissioner of Police has ordered an intense patrol of the area. Effort is also on to track the fleeing suspects.”
